Reach - Stainless steel plinth and figure.

Opened in November 2014, Reach is situated at Brompton Academy, Gillingham, Kent. The school is located in the heart of the Brompton community, and Reach is in sight of a large hospital and the Great Lines Park.
Commissioned by the University of Kent as inspirational piece. Its message is: Pride, Self Belief, Trust, Potential, Pride, Momentum and Aspiration.

The sculpture 316 stainless steel � boat 4.5m long, figures 2.7m long.
Situated in the grounds of the RNLI headquarters in Poole. Celebrating the sacrifice of thousands of people: Those lost, those saved and the crews that go to rescue.

Mariners - bronze & stainless steel 1998-2000
A publicly funded piece, initiated for the millennium.
There are two mariners pulling on stainless steel sails. An old jack Tar figure representing the past life of the river and a young woman in a wetsuit representing the future of the river. The mast is the turning point of the millennium.

I enjoy working on a large scale and this lends itself to Public Art.

Public Art commissions involves many things:

  • the commissioning body
  • the site
  • the community
  • the image itself

These influences often imbue the finished piece a life and presence far more dynamic than initially expected.

These are the most exciting of all projects.
